Young Americans



Young adults have often gone with out health coverage, because either they could not afford it or because they thought they were healthy enough not to need it. However, everyone is at risk for unexpected health care problems, whether through accidents or disease, and should have some level of coverage. The new health reform laws now has a coverage mandate (with certain allowed exceptions), but provides subsidies for low incomes, an opportunity for adults up to age 26 to stay on a parent’s plan, and other benefits.
