Explore Our New Web Site
July 1, 2010

The leadership of Bucks Voices for Health Care Reform is pleased to announce the launching of our new web site at www.buckshealthcare.org. With the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, we have redesigned the site to be your go-to resource on the new law, which for simplicity, we are referring to as the Health Care Reform (HCR) Act.

The site is organized by relevant subjects (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, employer coverage, insurance reforms, and delivery system changes) to help you find useful information quickly. It will be updated regularly with summaries of and links to topical articles and reports. Highlights:

The HCR Act section provides timelines for when the various parts of the new law will take effect;
The HCR and You section breaks out the impact of the law for particular demographic groups, like currently uninsured, young adults, and Medicare-eligible;
The Systems Reform section links to articles and studies on innovations in delivery, coverage, and financing, that are in the bill and or should be;
The HCR Action section provides links for contacting our elected officials, including all the Bucks County state representatives and the committees on which they serve;
The left side of the home page offers links to the Bucks Voices Updates that are sent out occasionally to subscribers. As we did during the HCR debate, we will use the updates to track the ongoing debate about how best to solve the problems with our health care system and the extent the HCR Act succeeds in doing so;
The right side of the home page provides a daily health news feeds from Kaiser Health News, which searches all major sources for the latest articles, trends, and announcements on this topic.

We hope you will explore the new site, share it with friends, bookmark it and return regularly. It is full of valuable information to help you personally and to understand the impact of the new legislation broadly.

We also invite you to give a donation to Bucks Voices via PayPal (click here), so we can continue to pay the bills to keep this resource updated and on the Internet. While this is a labor of love by our dedicated leadership volunteers, the web site hosting and email distribution of the updates, however, are not free. Please give as generously as you can.

Thank you for your continued support and interest in Bucks Voices.

P.S. If you have a personal story to share about either the current health care system or how the new law has affected you, please add it under the HCR Stories section. These stories will put a human face on the impact of the law and health care access in our county.
